The hostel is located central and is at a restaurantstreet. For a very good price me and my friend got a room for two with a shared bathroom with another room. The room was extremely large and was clean. It had toilet paper but i wouldnt count on getting towels, soap or paper. But for that price its ok. You cant get a five star service. I loved my stay there and its a good place for the social party traveller. There were always nice fun people to hang and talk with. At night you need to keep the windows open to air and it can get a bit loud at night. But for the party people like me it was even better like that. Fun people to talk with after the club. The shower was good.
We had 3 person private room and there was plenty of space and the bathroom was shared with another room. The noise from the another room came to our room quite loudly, but otherwise it was pretty silent. The shower was okay, it broke on the second day, but was quickly replaced. Staff was helpful and friendly.
The strongest point of this hostel was the price. We paid about half the price we had to pay anywhere else. Room was so clean that we could think we're the first visitors ever. Also some of the stuff would print documents for us, some of the others wouldn't. Wi-Fi only works in a lobby. Overall, nothing better could be anticipated for THAT a low price.
This was the second time I stayed at City hostel Pest. The big plus is definitely the low price and a good location. Rooms are nice and clean. The only negative - wifi was not working in rooms.
City Hostel Pest is Great ! It's a central location right on Raday ucta. This street has many great Bars, Restaurants, Cafes and convenience stores. The staff are friendly and helpful, and are at reception 24hrs. They are very happy to give local tips and advice regarding your daily plans for sightseeing in the city etc. I have already stayed here twice, and would stay here again in the future without any hesitation :)
This is university accommodation let out over the summer. The rooms are all a decent size and seem secure. There is also a very large kitchen. However the staff here appear to be students doing a summer job and some are very unprofessional (not all though - but at least 3 encountered were). Check-in took well over an hour to do and soundproofing could be better as I could hear people from the kitchen 2 floors above. The location is okay, though many hostels are closer. Not good for meeting ppl
City Hostel Pest is essentially university accommodation converted into a hostel during the holidays. The 7 bed dorm is 2 rooms joined together via a private bathroom. The area is good and close to tram lines 4 and 6 that link directly to the main areas and train station. Wifi is only available in the lobby and they don't accept card for payment. Good for groups but a little intimate for individual travellers.
Hostel was close to city centre, and less than 200mts from the Metro and other transport hubs. Place was very clean, safe, and secure. Laundry and Kitchen facilities were clean. Room was very clean and comfortable. Most of all, the Staff were very friendly and always ready to help. Free wifi and computer facilities were also available at reception.
Our stay was good, the room was clean and staff very kind with us. The hostel is located in one of the better street of Budapest, a lot of restaurants, pubs and by night, there are some animations like dancers. Sure that I will come back in this hostel, not expensive at all !
I stayed at Hostel Pest for 5 days in a private 3-bed room with two of my friends. The hostel is pretty well located. You can move everywhere by walk from the hostel. All staff members were nice. Security is quite good but could be way better (anyone can enter in the hostel, shared bathroom can be a security weakness if you forget to lock your bathroom). I didn't spend that much time in the hostel so didn't have fun there, but it's cheap and really good for the price :)
